Infection control

The aim of infection control is to stop the spread of germs.  We maintain strict hygiene standards throughout the hospital to control infection and prevent its spread.  Several infection control measures used by our staff include the wearing of gowns, gloves, protective eye wear and hand-washing.

Hand-washing is the most effective way to reduce the spread of infection.  We ask that you and your visitors please wash your hands after using the bathroom, before eating, or when entering or leaving ward areas.

We also ask that visitors do not sit on the beds and discourage them from visiting if they are unwell or suffering from flu, cough or cold symptoms, vomiting or diarrhoea.
