The Brisbane Centre for Pain Management helps to achieve our Vision to help people with chronic pain to lead a healthy, full and satisfying life.
The Centre opened in 2013 after level eight of the Hospital was redeveloped to establish a $3 million state-of-the art pain centre. It includes an operating theatre equipped with the latest technologies so suitable patients can experience the benefits of safe, modern and evidence-based interventional treatments. It brings another dimension to our pain management services, adding to our established pain management programs.
Our adolescent, young adult and adult pain management programs help people better manage their pain, realise the triggers contributing to their pain and teach strategies to manage pain. We are the only Queensland provider to offer group adolescent pain management programs to support young people from 14 years, and their families, who are living with chronic pain.
For people who actively participate in our programs or benefit from advice or treatment, their experience is often life-changing. Today, many are not only enjoying a fulfilling life, but a sustainable one, hopeful with a positive outlook for the future.
